Leah ~ 2 months old today!

Leah is two months old today! She's been sleeping through the night for about a week now. After her 8pm-ish bottle she goes right to sleep and sleeps anywere until 5am or 6am. Then goes back to sleep until 8:30am. This is pretty typically but then yesterday she was up for the day after eating at 6:45am. Leah is better at sleeping at night then the day. She still struggles at every nap time. Leah weighs approximately 10lbs but we'll find out for sure at her Dr. appt. tomorrow.

Hannah is doing well too. She is a very big help to Mommy throughout the day and she's starting to go into the bathroom and going all by herself! This is great especially when Leah is feeding and Mommy's hands are busy. Yesterday morning Hannah woke up early as she had to go potty and went by herself. She came downstairs afterwards and Mommy couldn't help but laugh. She put her pj shorts on inside out and had no clue! Oh well, that doesn't really matter. Hannah makes us laugh every day which is still really helpful when Leah cries every day. Unfortunately, there are still several times throughout the week that we hear both girls crying at the top of their lungs simultaneously! That's what happens when you have a newborn and a toddler!
Mommy and Daddy are doing okay. We are both still very exhausted. Even though the sleep at night is longer the days don't seem any less busy. Thank you for your continued support and prayers.

Thursday, January 8, 2009: Uncle Jon had fun with Hannah before and after his trip to the National Championship last Thursday. Hannah loved having Uncle Jon play puzzles and lincoln logs with her. Thanks, Uncle Jon!

First week of 2009

Happy New Year! We haven't had time to put a blog up this year as the girls have been keeping us busy! 2009 started off a little difficult when at Leah's first feeding she threw it all up! She wasn't sick but just not hungry. Bedtimes have been a challenge lately too. One night both girls were screaming simultaneously! Not pleasant on the ears. Between the difficult times so far this year we've had some funny and sweet moments too. This balance of good times and hard times will probably stay around forever as that's a big part of being parents. Here are some pictures to show you some good/sweet moments. We don't usually have time to capture the challenging moments! :o) Hope you all have a wonderful 2009- despite any difficulties. Love to you all!
Hannah loves pasta so much that after we all ate our dinner she still wanted more. So we put the bowl in front of her. She could live off of pasta and rice if we let her. She thought these pasta wheels were the best! Hannah has been really helpful lately. She helped Mommy wash dishes and organize laundry. She gives Leah her paci and picks out which diaper she should wear. She also loves playing with her toys to try to entertain Leah or keep her awake. Yesterday she just said a funny word and it woke Leah up, so Hannah kept saying it. Silly words are Hannah's new thing. If you ask her what she said and you still don't recognize it we just figure it's a "silly word." She's starting to soak up everything she hears, which isn't always a good thing. Here are some things she's said lately:
  • "Boom-shaka-laka!" SERIOUSLY! She says it over and over!
  • "You're being a brat" (oh boy, I wonder where she heard this! We better come up with something else quick! Luckily she didn't know what she was saying and said it out of context.)
  • "You're a silly man!"

Leah is coming along and will be 8 weeks on Saturday. Her days pretty much consist of sleeping, eating, staying awake for an hour or so. She's been getting on a pretty good nap schedule which is helpful and makes her not so fussy when she is awake. Last night she drank a 6oz bottle just after 8pm and didn't need food again until 4am! Great! Although she didn't fall asleep until 10:30pm! Oh the newborn stage- how long is it?

Hannah always wants to hold Leah! It's so sweet!

Daddy and Hannah doing their "smush faces!" Hannah actually says "smush face!" So funny to hear her say it!

Ok, so to entertain Leah AND Hannah, Daddy supervised this activity. Wonder what other crazy things Hannah will do with her sister the older she gets! We better watch them closely!
AND now, you know what we've been up to so far in 2009! How are you all doing? Keep us posted and let us know! Again, Happy New Year!
