Staycation!

Our idea for Labor Day weekend is to mentally take a vacation far away but stay home. We will enjoy our town but enjoy our own bed at night! We have decided to take a break from the phone and internet and hopefully recover from our very busy weeks. So if we don't talk to you for a couple of days just realize that we are on a staycation and we'll call or email you back. Hope you all have a very restful and safe weekend!

Weekend Update:
  • On Saturday, Hannah went to Gym Like This and loved it! She's really enjoying the class and asked to go back to the gym and to see Ms. Patti. Hannah is doing really good on the bar and beam. Ms. Pattie had her balance on 1 leg while the other was positioned at her knee- the pink flamingo position! So cute to see Hannah listening to a teacher!
  • We all went to lunch at Saito's, a Japanese Habachi restaurant. We've been wanting to eat there and take Hannah to see how they cook your food in front of you. Hannah was a little skiddish at the flame part but didn't freak out. The food was delicious!
  • We went home and took naps, then went shopping.
  • Hannah didn't sleep well Saturday night as she caught a cold. She didn't fall asleep until maybe 2am. So none of us slept well.
  • On Sunday, we didn't do much in the morning as we were all pretty tired.
  • However, we did go to have lunch at CityPlace and saw the fountains!
  • Right now Renee is trying to fight getting this cold too. She's had a little bit of a sore throat and head congestion but that's it.
  • Overall our staycation went great! But the nicest part of all is when it was over we didn't have to drive home!

Hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

Prayers for a family friend

Today starts a difficult path for a dear friend of Renee's Mom, Silvia. She's recently been diagnosed with a fast-spreading cancerous tumor in her colon. She's an amazing believer and would certainly appreciate your prayers. We've added her blog to our page so you can follow along with her progress. It's amazing to think of the difference that her next 3 months will be like in comparison to ours. Thank you all for any prayers! Here is her blog site: http://mamilila.wordpress.com/.

Cute and frustrating! That's a toddler for you.

One moment Hannah is so adorable and then the next very frustrating.

So cute...
At dinner tonight Hannah said "cheers Mommy" and held out her sippy cup to me. Then she did it to Daddy too. So cute to see what they pick up and try to do. She learns so much every day!

Then the next moment...
Renee tries to sneak away for just a minute giving Daddy a few minutes alone with Hannah. That didn't work as she started to get upset when she couldn't see Mommy. Then she couldn't hold it and didn't make it to the bathroom in time. So what are you going to do...it's not her fault we chose apple juice for dinner and then didn't take her right away...

Oh the ups and downs of toddlers and parenthood. Any stories to share? Let us know...Thanks!

Hannah meets Dora!!

After Hannah's first week going to Ms. Marlo and Gabby's house while Mommy and Daddy went to work we rewarded Hannah for staying dry all week by meeting her favorite character- Dora the Explorer and her best friend, Boots!

Mama is looking good!

As we approach the third trimester of this pregnancy, I just want to say how beautiful my wife is and how much I love her. I'm sure it's not easy being pregnant, working full time, dealing with a two year old (I mean, just look at how innocent Hannah looks in the pic below), and dealing with me as well. Keep up the great work Renee! You are an awesome wife and mother! Hannah, Leah and I are so blessed!

"One more time!"

Hannah's catchphrase is "I need to go potty one more time!" She's been doing great during potty training as you can see from some of her potty presents below... She loves getting her M&M's and stickers. This has been the most trying stage of parenting so far. It's not easy to deal with but we are thrilled with her progress. We've learned patience over and over again.

What's wrong with this picture?

Can you identify what's wrong with this picture? The pregnant lady who took it would claim it's her most embarrassing moment ever! After being at church for over an hour she noticed the missed matched shoes! She blames it on being pregnant and focusing on her toddler's outfit more than her own. What a mother!
