Christmas 2008

Christmas Eve was nice and quiet. We made cupcakes for Jesus' birthday and packed up for our trip to Grandma and Granddad's house. After the girls went to sleep we put all of their gifts out. It was fun to set up their piles and anticipate Hannah's reaction.

Christmas morning we celebrated by opening presents and stockings at our house. This was Leah's first Christmas so we had to help her but Hannah had no problems ripping the wrapping paper off her gifts! She loved everything and we are so thankful to our family for knowing us so well and getting us amazing gifts.

The second half of the day was spent driving to Ormond Beach to see Renee's family. This is Leah's first trip to Grandma and Granddad's house. The night was quite eventful and we even had a surprise visitor stop by, SANTA!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!! WE HOPE YOU ENJOYED YOUR DAY AS WELL!

Leah- 1 month old already

Today Leah is 1 month old already! We are excited but she's still a newborn so sleep is limited and cries are not. Here are some newer pictures for you all to enjoy...

Girls will be girls!

Hannah was so interested in this foot spa that we had sitting in our garage so we let her try it out. It's so funny that our 2 1/2 year old likes getting pedicures! Mommy can't wait to take her to the spa but maybe she'll wait a few more years as she still likes to go by herself still! :o)

Sisterly Love!

10 days difference!

Leah and Kinsey are destined to be friends. They were born only 10 days apart. Caden is only 6 days older than Hannah so Christa and Renee always have similar stories to experience and share. Congratulations to The Kidd family! We are very happy for you all.

Thankful For More Than We Could Imagine!

Today's not the only day we recognize what we are thankful for but it is certainly a day that we acknowledge it to others. We have so much to be thankful for this year, more than we can actually list.

First, we must start by thanking our Lord and Savior! For we cannot live one day without His love and forgiveness. Secondly, we will thank those that are reading this as we know you love us and support us constantly. From there we are thankful for our two beautiful girls, Hannah and Leah. They are our world and constant entertainment! Our list continues as our cup overflows daily. However, we will be brief and just say that this year has been a gift from God! Thank you all! We love you!!

We had a great Thanksgiving 2008! Hannah was A+ all day and Leah slept most of the day! We watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and then took our lunch to the park. After nap time, for most of us, we enjoyed a wonderful turkey dinner cooked by Grammie. We went to CityPlace to see the snowfall but they didn't have it but a water/light show to christmas music. We had a very fun and relaxing day. Enjoy the pictures...

Hannah's Puzzle

Our neighbors were sweet to bring over a baby gift for Leah and a gift for Hannah too. Hannah loves the puzzle and has put it together, with Daddy's help, several times. We are grateful as this has entertained Hannah for more than a few minutes- which is very helpful!

Resting at home- as much as possible!

We are adjusting to the middle of the night feedings and resting as much as we can. However, it has been too much fun being a family of four and having every day to do whatever with it! Here are some pictures from the last week.

The Payne's- at home!

Here's a little update since we came home on Sunday, November 16, 2008...
  • We were allowed to come home on Sunday after just being at the hospital for about 36 hours after Leah was born.

  • It's been great recovering at home and getting Hannah adjusted to her sister.
  • Sleep hasn't been interrupted too much, yet, just a couple of feedings a night. So far Hannah hasn't woken up to Leah's middle of the night cries.

  • Yesterday we took Leah to the pediatrician, Dr. Hanlon, to have her check on Leah's weight. She left the hospital at 5lbs. 11 oz. She has since gained 4 oz. So the Dr. was pleased but wants to see her again next week.

  • Feedings haven't been easy yet. Leah doesn't take to nursing as well as Hannah did. We are already doing bottles but not formula.

  • We've noticed several differences with the girls so far just in size, sleep and eating patterns.

  • We took the girls to the park in our neighborhood today so it's been fun thinking about getting out of the house. Don't worry we really bundled up the girls and Leah was completely covered to be out in the high 60 degree temps.

  • Renee's been recovering much quicker this time but has certainly enjoyed her daily naps and rest times.

  • Jon is enjoying taking care of his "3" girls and having the time off of work to be with all of of us.

  • Here are some recent pictures since leaving the hospital...

Leah Reagan Payne

Our second daughter Leah was born Saturday morning in what we like to call a "Sprint Delivery". Hannah was more of a "Marathon Delivery" two and a half years ago, so we got a completely different experience with Leah. Renee started having contractions yesterday around 2:30pm once or twice an hour. Then around 8:00pm as we were watching our friends daughter Ava, Renee's contractions started coming closer together. At 10:00pm the contractions were coming every four to five minutes. Renee called her Dr. around 10:30pm, he called back and told her to go to the hospital. We arrived at Jupiter Medical Center at 11:08pm and Leah was born at 12:25am. Wow! Both Renee and Leah are doing great....and so is Hannah of course!

Thursday's fun- PlayMobil

Mommy and Hannah went to PlayMobil today for almost 2 hours! Hannah had to be convinced to leave. We got there just after they opened and Hannah was the only kid there for a little bit. Then a few other kids came but it was mostly quiet. We actually stayed longer than the other kids. When we left at noon Hannah was the only kid there again!
Princess Hannah!

Surprisingly these horses were a big drawl for Hannah. She played in this area for a long time.

Does this remind you of playing with Barbie's horse?
